CPA Australia and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank sign new three-year memorandum of understanding

25 July 2019 |Announcements
CPA Australia and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank today announced a strategic relationship that will provide CPA Australia’s members, including public practice members, with access to a range of customised finance and banking solutions. The relationship will foster financial resilience across individual businesses, particularly in the SME sector, and enable collaboration between CPA Australia members and Bendigo Bank’s extensive retail network, including its Community Bank® partners.

The three-year agreement will support CPA Australia members working in public practice by offering tailored banking products and services such as specialised business accounts, flexible lending options, and other exclusive member benefits.

CPA Australia’s public practice members service more than 880,000 small businesses. As a trusted resource of accounting and business advice, the unique insight gained by public practice members, combined with Bendigo Bank’s connection to community and personalised business banking capability will allow both organisations to more effectively meet the needs of the Australian business community.

Bruce Speirs, Executive, Business Banking, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank said the agreement represented a commitment from both institutions to provide personalised advisory relationships for Australian business customers, driving positive outcomes for their local communities.

“Bendigo Bank believes in the importance of relationship banking as a way to deliver value to customers. We’re committed to offering customers access to banking services through dedicated business bankers in conjunction with our extensive branch network. By partnering with CPA Australia, we’ll be even better placed to offer unparalleled benefits to Australian business customers and their communities.

“CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies and many public practice members are located in the same postcode as Bendigo Bank branches, presenting strong opportunity for both organisations to build further resilience in customers, communities, partners and employees, and positively contribute to Australian business and local economies,” Speirs concluded.

Andrew Hunter, CEO, CPA Australia said the agreement with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank will help the organisation achieve its purpose of advancing trusted and valued accounting and business professionals who enhance their communities.

“There is a clear alignment between CPA Australia and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in the roles we both envisage playing in support of the communities in which we operate,” Mr Hunter said.

“This observation led to formal discussions between both organisations and I’m pleased we have now agreed to enter a new phase of our business relationship. With both businesses firmly committed to working closely together over the coming years, this will allow us to better service and support our members,” Mr Hunter concluded.
