Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is standing by to support customers affected by floods

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has reassured customers in areas at risk of flooding across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania they will be offered swift financial relief following a significant rainfall event over the last 24 hours.

A range of measures are now available to eligible customers with the Bank continuing to monitor the situation and review and update its response as necessary.

General Manager Retail Banking Dennis Teale said Bendigo and Adelaide Bank would continue to support flood-affected customers following the recent weather event as it has done in the past.

“We want to reassure all our customers that right now, their number one concern needs to be their safety – and that their Bank will be there to help when the time comes,” Mr Teale said.

“We are offering our home loan, business loan and agribusiness loan customers impacted by the floods a range of relief measures including loan repayment deferrals of up to three months. The package also includes discounted interest rates, fee waivers and other concessions. Our team members are available to ensure requests for assistance are managed promptly.”

The Bank understands the impact severe weather events such as floods can have on customers financially. The key features of the Assistance Package for flood affected customers of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Rural Bank and Adelaide Bank include:

  • Home Loan, Business Loan and Agribusiness Loan customers can apply for loan repayment deferrals of up to three months
  • Discounted interest rates on new personal loans taken out by existing Bendigo Bank customers
  • Waiving of interest rate reduction for early withdrawals on term deposits prior to maturity
  • No 'loan break' costs for customers with a fixed rate who use an insurance payment to pay out their loan
  • For impacted customers, Bendigo Bank powered by Tyro merchant customers can apply to have merchant terminal rental fees waived

Concerned customers are advised to speak with their local Branch Manager, Business Banking Manager or Agribusiness Relationship Manager when it’s safe to do so. Alternatively, Bendigo Bank customers can contact our Mortgage Help Centre on 1300 652 146 for more information regarding financial hardship and applying for assistance or visit: www.bendigobank.com.au/support.

For Adelaide Bank customers the Mortgage Help Centre can be reached on 1300 650 259. Rural Bank customers are advised to call Rural Bank direct on 1300 660 115.

The Bank will continue to monitor the situation and add regions into the assistance package where required.
