Community

The role of our bank is to feed into prosperity, not off it.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank pride itself on its work with Australian communities.

We recognise that without successful communities, there cannot be successful businesses.

Our approach begins with listening. How do local leaders see their community growing? What are their problems? Can Bendigo and Adelaide Bank help address these threats and opportunities?

Often we can do so by finding ways to secure banking access. But increasingly we are finding other ways to help, too.

The Community Bank model
For more than 20 years our Community Bank branches have continued to resonate with customers and their communities.

They deliver so much more than just quality banking services:

  • Jobs for local people;
  • Investment opportunities for local shareholders;
  • Profits for the community; and
  • Funding and assistance for important community projects.

Scholarships
Helping build strong futures for young Australians

Each year we award scholarships to first year tertiary students studying at an Australian university, college or TAFE campus for the first time.

Our scholarship programs come from many sponsors and provide the opportunity for further study to a number of students across the country. These programs are delivered in partnership with Rural Bank, Alexander & Bridget Jones MSC scholarship, many of our Community Bank branches, and our own team at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

We're committed to supporting the future of Australian youth.

Donations help build stronger communities

We're helping local communities through tough times.

One example is the Victorian Foodbank feeding families in need. Every dollar donated is TWO meals created – it’s that simple.
