By encouraging students to study IT locally, we aim to meet the increasing demand for IT professionals in Central Victoria. By meeting the demand, local businesses - and ultimately the community - will benefit.
What is the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Cadetship?
As a Cadet, you’ll be a fulltime staff member with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank for the duration of the Cadetship (maximum five years). As well as on-the-job experience, you’ll receive study leave to complete the ‘Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional)’ part-time at La Trobe University Bendigo. During university semesters, of the hours you’ll perform per week, four full days (or equivalent hours) will be contributed to on-the-job experience, while one full day (or equivalent hours) will be allocated to your part-time study.
Working alongside the Bank’s IT specialists, you’ll experience different aspects of IT designed to help you further develop your skills and knowledge. You’ll be rotated through different roles such as project management, programming and business analysis - as well as receiving experience with our Web Service and IT Help Desk teams.
To help better understand the business, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in other areas of the Bank. The branch network, Customer Help and Customer Contact and Care will give you insight into the way our business operates and provide a great foundation for new skills and knowledge.
As a Cadet, you’ll be supported by a mentor who will answer questions, provide on-the-job experience, further educate and help guide you down your desired career path.
