Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is committed to supporting youth through various initiatives, including our annual scholarship program.

This year, 89 scholarships were awarded to full-time first year undergraduates studying at an Australian university or college campus for the first time.

Our scholarship program makes a significant difference to these hard working and talented students by helping them cover some of the costs of living and studying at university

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship for rural and regional students

The academic dreams of 89 students became a reality in 2016, thanks to one of Australia’s largest scholarship programs.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship for rural and regional students.

Thirty scholarships were awarded under the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank 2016 Scholarship for rural and regional students.

The fifteen students to receive new scholarships to support their first year of tertiary study are:

  • Trinity Bloch of Boonah QLD is studying Midwifery at The University of Queensland
  • Lycia Erwin of Kuranda QLD is studying Medicine / Surgery at James Cook University
  • Georgie Juszczyk of Annandale QLD is studying Law at Australian National University
  • Hirushi Kumarapperuma of Nambour QLD is studying Pharmacy (Honours) at The University of Queensland
  • Jason-Van Nguyen of Silkwood QLD is studying Medicine / Surgery at James Cook University
  • Kieran Walsh of Cairns QLD is studying Fine Arts at The Queensland University of Technology
  • Agnes Bersee of Mount Gambier SA is studying Biomedical Science - Advanced (Honours) at Monash University
  • Sarah Hayman of Suttontown SA is studying Medical Science (Vision Science) / Optometry at Flinders University
  • Elise Prior of Hamilton SA is studying Psychological Science at The University of Adelaide
  • Jasper Quilliam of Burnie TAS is studying Science at The University of Melbourne
  • Caleb Hosking of Mildura VIC is studying Engineering (Honours) and Science at Monash University
  • James Matheson of Trafalgar VIC is studying Law (Honours) / Commerce at Monash University
  • Samuel McCormick of Golden Square VIC is studying Medicine / Surgery at Monash University
  • Brody Attwater of Wandina WA is studying Science at The University of Western Australia
  • Chloe Huismann of Mt Tarcoola WA is studying Science at The University of Western Australia

In addition, fifteen students had their scholarships renewed to support their second year of study in 2016.

Alexander and Bridget Jones - Montmorency Secondary College 2016 Scholarship

Two scholarships were also awarded to students to support their first year of study at The University of Melbourne.

  • Max Dowell of Montmorency is studying Science at The University of Melbourne
  • Ruby Houghton of Eltham is studying Biomedicine at The University of Melbourne

In addition, two students had their scholarships renewed to support their second year of study in 2016.

Haven Scholarship

Seven Haven; Home, Safe tenants have been awarded with life-changing scholarships to study a tertiary or vocational qualification.

The scholarships are a joint initiative of Community Sector Banking and Haven; Home, Safe and provide financial assistance for study related costs.

The successful recipients will be using the scholarships to study a range of qualifications, from community services through to business and environmental science.

Most scholarship recipients will commence study in 2016, with some already part way through their programs. Both Haven; Home, Safe and not-for-profit banking specialists, Community Sector Banking will be following their journeys.

Rural Bank 2016 Scholarship

Three students will receive a Rural Bank Scholarships to support their first year of tertiary study.

In addition, six students had their scholarships renewed to support their second year of study in 2016.

A further 62 students received new scholarships to support their first year of tertiary study thanks to our Community Bank® network.

  • North Richmond and Districts Community Bank® Branch will support Emily Jol to study Creative Arts/ Communication and Media Studies at The University of Wollongong

In addition, fifty nine students had their scholarships renewed to support their second or third year of study thanks to our Community Bank® network.

Thirty seven students had their scholarships renewed to support their second and third year of study at La Trobe University thanks to the La Trobe University and Bendigo Bank Scholarships.
