2012 Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship Program

 

The academic dreams of 71 students became a reality in 2012, thanks to one of Australia’s largest scholarship programs.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship for rural and regional students
Thirty-six scholarships were awarded under the 2012 Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship.

The twenty-two students to receive new scholarships to support their first year of tertiary study were:

  • Ilona Jakab from Maldon, VIC is studying Biomedicine at University of Melbourne
  • Rebecca Wardell from Warragul, VIC is studying Biomedical Science at Monash University
  • Alexander Smith from Cowes, VIC is studying Biomedicine at University of Melbourne
  • Grace Haslinghouse from Macedon, VIC is studying Arts at University of Melbourne
  • Thomas Diaz from Lamplough, VIC is studying Arts at University of Melbourne
  • Jo Mitchell from Sandy Point, VIC is studying Arts and Law at Monash University
  • Jessica Lee Beech from South Grafton NSW is studying Speech Pathology at Newcastle University.
  • Ram Khanal from Lavington, NSW is studying Medical Science at Australian National University
  • Brigid Wheaton from Roma, QLD is studying Biomedical Science at University of Queensland
  • Brittany Davis from Highfields, QLD is studying Art and Law at University of Queensland
  • Jemma Beh from Howard, QLD is studying Journalism and Law at Queensland University of Technology
  • Sweta Dahal from South Mackay, QLD is studying Dental Surgery at James Cook University
  • Mikayla Giuffrida from Tully, QLD is studying Primary Education at James Cook University
  • Zoey Jones from Mareeba, QLD is studying Pharmacy at University of Queensland
  • Jade Maynard from Mount Gambier, SA is studying Clinical Sciences and Medicine at Flinders University
  • Lucas Gamertsfelder from Whyalla Norrie, SA is studying Science (honours) at Flinders University
  • Nicole Dmochowska from Mount Gambier, SA is studying Science (Molecular and Drug Design) at University of Adelaide
  • Eve O’Mahony from Bunbury, WA is studying Physiotherapy at Curtin University
  • Hayley Wellstead from Dawesville WA is studying Science (Physiotherapy) at Curtin University
  • Clare Rayner from New Town, TAS is studying Biomedical Science (honours) at Griffith University
  • Melissa Jones from Campbell Town, TAS is studying Law and Social Science at University of Adelaide.

Fourteen students had their scholarships renewed to support their second year of study:

  • Abbey Steggall from Canadian, VIC is studying Clinical Science/Medicine and Surgery at Flinders University.
  • Amy Hodder from Junortoun, VIC is studying Pharmacy at Monash University.
  • Brooke Ward from Traralgon, VIC is studying Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne.
  • Joshua Chittick from Bendigo, VIC is studying Computer Science at RMIT University.
  • Emma Smith from Bairnsdale, VIC is studying Commerce at the University of Melbourne.
  • Nicole Feast from Mount Gambier, SA is studying Science at the University of Melbourne.
  • Charlotte Durand from East Ballina, NSW is studying Medicine and Surgery at James Cook University.
  • Alison Bruce from Harden, NSW is studying Science at the University of Melbourne.
  • Mathew Blanc from Bowen, QLD is studying Biotechnology at the University of Queensland.
  • Renee Rynn from Bowen, QLD is studying Occupational Therapy at James Cook University.
  • Hannah Tunstill from Kalannie, WA is studying Veterinary Science at Murdoch University.
  • Johanna Lee from Australind, WA is studying Medicine at the University of Western Australia.
  • James Ansell from Alice Springs, NT is studying Science at Australian National University.
  • Anika Kalka from Forth, TAS is studying Science at Murdoch University.

  • Sanctuary Point Community Bank® Branch will support Taylor Hume to study a Zoology degree at University of New England and Pamela Barling to study a Journalism/Law degree at Wollongong University.
  • Braidwood/Bungendore Community Bank® Branch will support Kaitlyn Harrison to study a Public Health degree at Canberra University and Michael Engemann to study an Engineering degree at University of New South Wales.
  • Calwell, Wanniassa and Jerrabomberra Community Bank® branches will support Bowan Shelton to study a Law/Economics degree at Australian National University.

QLD

  • Yarraman/Blackbutt Community Bank® Branch will support Patrick Walsh to study a Science/Law degree at University of Queensland.
  • Gympie Community Bank® Branch will support Amy Thompson to study Environmental Science at University of Queensland.

SA

  • Cummins District Community Bank® Branch will support Rebekah Wandner to study Nursing at Flinders University.
  • Virginia and Elizabeth Community Bank® branches will support Rima Shakir to study Medical Imaging at the University of South Australia (UniSA).

VIC

  • Beaufort Community Bank® Branch will support Martin Goode to study Journalism at Monash University and Glen Holtkamp to study Oral Health at La Trobe University.
  • Narre Warren Community Bank® Branch will support Amy McMahon to study Science at University of Melbourne.
  • Lang Lang Community Bank® Branch will support Allyson Beilharz to study Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) at RMIT University
  • Minyip Community Bank® Branch will support Seam Walsh to study Commerce and Science at Deakin University.
  • Pearcedale Community Bank® Branch will support Eloise Neyenhuis to study Arts/Science at Deakin University, Georgia Ridgeway to study a degree in Communication at RMIT University, Claire Blaby to study Arts (Textile Design) at RMIT University and Chloe Turner to study Arts (Music) at RMIT University.
  • Rupanyup Community Bank® Branch will support Samuel Carter to study Physical Education at University of Ballarat.
  • Woori Yallock Community Bank® Branch will support Janet Laws to study Arts at Monash University.
  • Clifton Hill/North Fitzroy Community Bank® Branch will support Hester MacKinnon to study Arts/Law at Monash University and Campbell Wheeler to study Science at University of Melbourne.

  • Collie Community Bank® Branch will support Branden Papalia to study Philosophy and Electrical Engineering at University of Western Australia and Regan Crabbe to study a Science degree at University of Western Australia.
  • Bayswater Community Bank® Branch has offered Georgia Nielsen the John D’Orazio Memorial Scholarship to study a Journalism degree at Curtin University.
  • Gosnells Community Bank® Branch will support Zahra Madadi to study Biomedical Science at University of Western Australia.
  • Mukinbudin Community Bank® Branch will support Bethany Clune to study Arts at University of Western Australia.
